Sewing and Patchwork

Sewing is the simple yet timeless art of joining materials with a needle and thread, while patchwork takes this a step further by piecing together small sections of fabric to create a larger, decorative design. Traditionally, patchwork forms the first layer of a quilt, but it’s also perfect for making unique clothing and charming homeware such as cushion covers.

This month, Annie will be trying her hand at a beautiful patchwork bag pattern. The project combines machine stitching with some hand-sewing, giving her the chance to explore different techniques and create something both practical and creative.
